The advantages of the MEL Isolux media are clear:
Environmentally safe — One of the key advantages of our patented media is the permanence of the adsorption process. Waste media from arsenic remediation units has been tested according to the USEPA's Toxic Characteristic Leaching Procedure and found to be non-hazardous and safe for disposal via landfill. The adsorption mechanism is a permanent one; locking the harmful metal ions within the macro and micro pores of the media´s structure.
Fast Kinetics — The ion exchange adsorption process of our inorganic media is exceedingly quick. Tests for arsenic removal demonstrate 90% removal in the first 10 — 15 seconds contact with contaminated water. This removes the need for any long residency times, a common problem with many competing water treatment systems.
High Selectivity - The high selectivity of our media means only the desired metal ions are removed.
Broad pH Range — MEL´s proprietary media can operate over a broad pH range in comparison with other remediation technologies. The media will remove metal ions between pH 4.0 and 8.5.
