Arsenic Free Drinking Water

ISOLUX Systems for Drinking Water Treatment

Trace metal ions can have harmful consequences when ingested, particularly if ingestion occurs over a sustained period of time. Isolux Technology is helping to provide safe drinking water for people throughout the world.

It is common for us to take it for granted that our drinking water is safe. Unfortunately, in many parts of the world this is not the case. There are geological and man-made factors that can contaminate our water sources, whilst having no affect on the appearance or taste.

Arsenic is an example of such a trace metal ion. Arsenic contaminated water can be found throughout the world due to the erosion of certain geological formations. The arsenic ions As (V) and As (III) are both highly damaging to the circulatory system and can cause cancers and skin legions. Arsenic can be removed to, well below, safe limits using our Isolux system. Though the World Health Organization standard is set at 10 ppb, the US EPA is currently considering lowering this limit to 5 ppb. Side effects of arsenic contamination include damage to the circulatory system, skin legions and increased risk of several types of cancer.

The MEL media is currently helping provide safe water throughout the world. The media will remove arsenic to below 2 ppb at neutral pH. At lower pH´s it can remove the harmful ions to below undetectable levels.

Other harmful metal ions removed by the Isolux TM system include Cadmium, Lead, Antimony and Chromium. To discuss your particular concerns please contact us and we will be happy to help.

The Isolux TM system is designed to be user friendly. No special engineering or chemical knowledge is required to maintain and operate the system. The cartridges are of a manageable size and easily changed. MEL has a dedicated team ready to help set up and explain the system, whilst tailoring to particular water quality requirements.

A range of system sizes are available, from municipal scale to Point of Use systems for under a household sink. For further details please see the Products section of this site or contact us directly.
